Xiaojun Wang Director

Prof. Wang Xiaojun is the Director of the National Survey Research Center at Renmin University of China (NSRC) and holds the prestigious title of Wu Yuzhang Chair Professor. She previously served as the Party Secretary and Dean of the School of Statistics. Her teaching and research interests span life insurance actuarial science, pension and social security actuarial studies, mortality modeling and longevity risk management, disability risk modeling and long-term care insurance, as well as healthy aging and healthy life expectancy.

Prof. Wang plays leading roles in national academic and policy advisory bodies. She is the Convenor of the Statistics Discipline Review Panel of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council; Secretary-General of the National Steering Committee for Professional Master’s Programs in Applied Statistics; Vice President of the China Statistical Education Society and President of its Higher Education Branch; and a member of the National Statistical Expert Advisory Committee of the National Bureau of Statistics.

She has served as Principal Investigator for major national projects funded by the National Social Science Foundation of China and the Ministry of Education, and has led or participated in numerous programs supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. She is also an invited expert for the China–EU Social Security Cooperation Program and the World Bank–Ministry of Finance Actuarial Capacity Building Program. Prof. Wang is a recipient of the State Council’s Special Government Allowance.

Her honors include the Ministry of Education’s “New Century Excellent Talent” award, the Beijing “New Century Social Science Theoretical Talent” award, the “Beijing Model Teacher for Educational Innovation” distinction, the First Prize of the Beijing Higher Education Teaching Achievement Awards, and the “Top Ten Teaching Excellence Award” of Renmin University of China.Her honors include the Ministry of Education “New Century Excellent Talent” award, the Beijing “New Century Social Science Theoretical Talent” award, the “Beijing Model Teacher for Educational Innovation” title, the First Prize of the Beijing Higher Education Teaching Achievement Awards, and the “Top Ten Teaching Excellence Award” of Renmin University of China.

Yilin Wu Deputy Director

Prof. Wu Yilin is a Professor and Ph.D. supervisor in the School of Statistics and the National Survey Research Center at Renmin University of China. Her research interests include economic statistics, quantitative research on corporate innovation and entrepreneurship, index compilation, statistical surveys, and exploratory data analysis. She has led more than 30 national research projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Social Science Foundation of China, the Ministry of Education Humanities and Social Sciences Fund, and the Major National Statistical Research Program.

Prof. Wu has published more than 60 academic papers in leading journals, including World Development, Industrial and Corporate Change, and Statistical Research. She has been invited as a visiting scholar at UNU-MERIT of the United Nations University in Maastricht, the Netherlands, as well as at the French National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE), where she participated in EU–China collaborative research programs. As an expert, she has contributed to numerous index development and evaluation initiatives commissioned by the Ministry of Finance, the National Bureau of Statistics, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the State Administration for Market Regulation, gaining extensive experience in statistical index research.
